Baraden Nasarawa Resigns As Accountant General, Accepts Call To Run For Governor

The Baraden Nasarawa, Rt. Hon. Musa Ahmed Mohammed, PhD, has resigned his appointment as Accountant General of Nasarawa State and accepted the call to run for the office of the governor in the 2027 general elections.

Mohammed, a former Speaker of the State Assembly, made the disclosure at the ongoing mega rally in his honor in Lafia.

The rally, organized by people of the state from all walks of life under the aegis of Fatan Alheri Movement, has in attendance prominent personalities, including the Chairman of the Nasarawa State Football Association, Alhaji Salisu Galadima.

Baraden Nasarawa had come under immense pressure to join the gubernatorial election from people of the State, who identified him as the ideal successor to Governor Abdullahi Sule.

This comes barely a few hours after Governor Abdullahi Sule held a meeting with gubernatorial aspirants of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Abuja.

The meeting also had in attendance former governors, Abdullahi Adamu and Umaru Tanko Al-Makura. A former Deputy Governor of the State, Silas Ali Agara, also attended the meeting held at the Nasarawa Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.
