ACReSAL Boosts Gombe Goes Green Initiative with Operational Equipment

The Gombe State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project has provided critical operational equipment to the Gombe Goes Green (3G) initiative as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen environmental sustainability and climate resilience across the state.

The donation, made under ACReSAL's institutional support programme, includes 10 surface water tanks, 50 helmets, 50 pairs of safety boots, 50 hand gloves, and 50 reflective jackets. The equipment is expected to enhance the efficiency, safety, and effectiveness of personnel engaged in environmental protection and restoration activities.

Speaking on the intervention, project officials noted that the support reflects ACReSAL's commitment to empowering institutions and initiatives working towards environmental conservation, climate adaptation, and sustainable development.

The Gombe Goes Green (3G) initiative, a flagship environmental programme of the Gombe State Government, focuses on afforestation, landscape restoration, waste management, and other green development projects aimed at combating the effects of climate change and environmental degradation.

The newly donated equipment will support field operations and improve the capacity of workers involved in tree planting, environmental sanitation, and other ecological restoration efforts across communities in the state.

The intervention further demonstrates ACReSAL's dedication to promoting climate-smart solutions and strengthening environmental governance in line with the development agenda of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON.

Under Governor Inuwa Yahaya's leadership, Gombe State has continued to implement policies and programmes designed to restore degraded landscapes, improve environmental sustainability, and build resilience against the adverse impacts of climate change.

Stakeholders have described the support as timely, noting that it will contribute significantly to the success of the 3G initiative and the broader goal of creating a greener, cleaner, and more resilient Gombe State.
