Egypt Lodges Formal Protest Over Officiating in World Cup Defeat to Argentina
The Egyptian Football Association has officially submitted a complaint requesting an investigation into the refereeing decisions made during Egypt’s World Cup defeat to the national team of Argentina.
According to reports, the federation’s president, Hany Abo Rida, has challenged the performance of French referee François Letexier and his assistants, alleging that crucial errors influenced the outcome of the match.
The Egyptian federation is also seeking the removal of the French officiating team from the remainder of the tournament, arguing that the integrity of the competition must be protected. FIFA has yet to issue an official response to the complaint.
