Al-Itqan Orphanage Committee Distributes Food Items, Sallah Clothes to Orphans

The Al-Itqan Orphanage Committee has successfully organized a charitable outreach programme involving the distribution of food items and Sallah clothes to orphaned children under its care.

The event, held at Al-Itqan Academy under the Al-Itqan Charitable Foundation as part of its humanitarian activities for the year 2026 / 1447 AH, was aimed at supporting vulnerable children and enabling them to celebrate the upcoming Sallah festival with dignity and happiness.

According to the organizers, the primary objective of the programme was to provide essential food supplies, particularly rice, and new Sallah clothes to orphans cared for by the academy. The initiative was designed to improve the welfare of the children, support their caregivers, and ensure the children participate fully in the Sallah celebrations with joy and confidence.

The programme began with an opening prayer, followed by brief remarks from representatives of Al-Itqan Academy. During the remarks, speakers highlighted the importance of compassion, community support, and the collective responsibility of society to care for orphaned children.

After the opening session, the distribution exercise commenced, with bags of rice given to the orphans and their guardians to assist with their household food needs. In addition, Sallah clothes were distributed to the children so they could have new outfits to wear during the festive period.

Volunteers and members of the committee carefully coordinated the distribution process to ensure that all beneficiaries received their items in an orderly and fair manner. The event was marked by joy and gratitude as the children happily received their gifts.

Since the inception of the academy’s orphan support programme in 2018, the Al-Itqan Orphanage Committee has nurtured and supported more than 450 orphaned children from communities including Bogo, Liji, Wuri Shehu, Nassarawo, and other neighboring areas.

The programme was attended by members of the Al-Itqan Orphanage Committee, staff of Al-Itqan Academy, volunteers, caregivers, and the orphaned children who benefited from the initiative.

Organizers noted that the distribution had a positive impact not only on the children but also on their caregivers, strengthening the spirit of compassion and solidarity within the community. The excitement and happiness expressed by the children were clear indicators of the programme’s success.

In their closing remarks, the committee reaffirmed its commitment to supporting orphaned children through educational, social, and welfare initiatives.

The committee expressed appreciation to the Chairman of Al-Itqan Charitable Foundation, Engr. Aminu Ahmed, and his Deputy, M. Bashir Isah, for their leadership and continuous support. Special recognition was also given to M. Abubakar Sadiq Bala, Head of Al-Itqan Academy, under whose leadership the programme was successfully carried out.
