Mahmood Yusuf Empowers Over 300 Youths, Women in Akko

The Director General of the Joint Project Development Agency (JPDA), Gombe State, Builder Mahmood Yusuf, PhD, has empowered over 300 youths and women in Akko Local Government Area under the theme “KO GEZAU 2027: Empowering Youths & Women for a Better Tomorrow.”

The programme, held on Tuesday, attracted prominent government officials and APC leaders, including the Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Luggerewo; Commissioners Sanusi Ahmed Pindiga and Sani Ahmed Haruna; Chairman of Akko LGA, Hon. Abubakar Usman Barambu; Chairman of Akko North LCDA, Hon. Bello Sulaiman; and other dignitaries.

The empowerment items included 10 Boxer motorcycles, 20 sewing machines, 20 grinding machines and 200 bags of fertiliser, distributed to selected individuals and groups.

Speaking at the event, Builder Mahmood Yusuf said the initiative was aimed at supporting youths and women while demonstrating solidarity with APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He also commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for developmental projects in Akko, including roads, healthcare infrastructure, solar lights, the School of Nursing and renovation of the local government secretariat.

The JPDA boss urged beneficiaries to support the APC, stressing that the empowerment was undertaken in support of the party's candidates and not for his personal political ambition.

The APC Chairman of Akko LGA, Alhaji Marka, Commissioner Sanusi Pindiga, Speaker Luggerewo and other leaders commended the initiative and called for continued support for grassroots empowerment.

The political leaders also expressed confidence that Akko would maintain its support for the APC in the 2027 elections.
