DG RETSO Congratulates First Lady Oluremi Tinubu on Conferment of Nupe Traditional Title

Hon. Yusi Buba, Director General of the Remi Tinubu Support Organization (RETSO), has extended warm congratulations to Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, following her conferment with the revered traditional title of Soniyako Nupe by Dr Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers.

The title was bestowed on the First Lady during a grand traditional ceremony held in Bida, Niger State, on Saturday, 2nd May 2026. The event drew dignitaries from across the country, including political office holders, royal fathers, community leaders, and supporters who gathered to celebrate the special honour.

Hon. Yusi Buba described the recognition as well-deserved, noting that the First Lady has continued to distinguish herself through impactful programmes focused on women empowerment, youth development, education support, healthcare advocacy, and humanitarian interventions. He stated that her compassion, leadership, and commitment to nation-building have earned her admiration from Nigerians across all regions.

According to him, the title Soniyako Nupe symbolizes respect, honour, and appreciation from the Nupe Kingdom for her outstanding service to humanity and unwavering dedication to national unity. He added that the conferment also reflects the growing recognition of the First Lady’s efforts in promoting social welfare and inclusive development.

The colourful occasion was attended by Mohammed Umaru Bago, Deputy Governor Yakubu Garba, the First Lady of Niger State Hajia Fatima Bago, top government officials, and several traditional rulers from within and outside Nigeria. Cultural displays and royal blessings added glamour to the historic event.

Hon. Yusi Buba further prayed for God’s guidance, strength, and wisdom for Senator Oluremi Tinubu as she continues to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the champion causes that uplift vulnerable Nigerians.

He reaffirmed RETSO’s loyalty and continued support for the First Lady’s vision of compassion, empowerment, and sustainable national progress.
