Police operatives in Delta State have arrested notorious kidnap kingpin Abubakar Usman, popularly known as “Shehu,” during a coordinated security operation in a forest hideout within the state. Authorities described the suspect as one of the most wanted figures linked to a series of kidnappings and violent crimes in the region.

According to police sources, Usman was apprehended following intelligence-led operations that tracked his movements to a forest camp. During interrogation, he reportedly confessed to involvement in several high-profile abductions and murders across Delta State.

The suspect subsequently led security operatives to his gang’s hideout, where officers came under attack from other members of the criminal group. In the ensuing exchange of gunfire, four suspected gang members were neutralized, while three AK-47 rifles and dozens of rounds of ammunition were recovered.
