Two Suspected Plateau Cultists Arrested, Drugs Seized in Jos

The Plateau State Police Command has arrested two suspected members of the notorious Sara-Suka cult group during separate security operations in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
According to the police, the operations also led to the recovery of dangerous weapons and substances suspected to be illicit drugs.
Security sources disclosed that the suspects were apprehended following intelligence-driven raids carried out in parts of Jos known for criminal activities and cult-related violence. The police said officers acted on credible information regarding the movement and activities of suspected gang members terrorising some communities.
During the operations, security personnel reportedly recovered dangerous weapons believed to have been used in criminal activities, alongside quantities of substances suspected to be hard drugs.
The command stated that the arrests form part of ongoing efforts to tackle cultism, drug abuse, armed violence, and other forms of criminality across Plateau State.
The Sara-Suka group has over the years been linked to violent clashes, street fights, robberies, and attacks in parts of Jos and surrounding communities, posing serious security concerns for residents.
Police authorities assured residents that investigations are ongoing and that the suspects will be prosecuted after the conclusion of investigations.
The command further urged members of the public to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information that could help in combating crime and maintaining peace in the state.
