Gombe ADC in Disarray, Not Ready for Governance — Sabo Sani Labaran

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State, Sabo Sani Labaran, has described the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state as disorganized and unprepared for governance.

Labaran, in a statement posted on his official Facebook page, criticized the party over its ongoing leadership confusion, particularly the emergence of two individuals—Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Gana and Hon. Shehu Durbi—both claiming to be the state secretary.

According to him, the development highlights a lack of coordination and internal democracy within the ADC, raising concerns about its capacity to manage the affairs of Gombe State.

“It is both amusing and deeply concerning that a political party seeking the trust of the people cannot even put its own house in order,” he stated in the Facebook post.

He further pointed out that both contenders are experienced politicians who have previously served in government, questioning their credibility as advocates of a new political direction.

Labaran noted that Hon. Shehu Durbi served as Commissioner for Lands under former governor Ibrahim Dankwambo, while Dr. Gana held a commissioner position during the first tenure of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

He argued that the crisis within the ADC is self-inflicted and not the result of external interference, emphasizing that a party unable to manage its internal affairs cannot be trusted with governance.

“You cannot build a stable political structure on a foundation of confusion and expect it to stand,” he added in the same Facebook statement.

The APC chieftain, however, commended his party for what he described as sustained stability and purposeful leadership in Gombe State under Governor Inuwa Yahaya.

He concluded that the people of Gombe State are increasingly faced with a clear choice between what he termed a divided opposition and a ruling party focused on governance and development.
