Fire Erupts at Federal Secretariat in Abuja, Sparks Panic in Head of Service Office
Panic broke out on Monday morning at the Federal Secretariat Complex after a section of the office of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation was gutted by fire.
Eyewitnesses said the fire was first noticed at about 8:20 a.m., sending shockwaves through staff and visitors within the complex.
Videos circulating on social media showed thick black smoke billowing from the affected part of the building, causing alarm in the area.
The incident reportedly occurred at Section C of the building within the Federal Secretariat Complex in Abuja.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed, while emergency responders were said to be working to contain the situation.
