BREAKING NEWS: Appeal Court Sacks ‘Impostor Leadership’ Claim, Reaffirms Gabam as SDP National Chairman

In a landmark ruling set to reshape the leadership structure of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the Court of Appeal has overturned a controversial earlier judgment that had been used to project Dr. Sadiq Umar Abubakar Gombe as National Chairman.

The appellate court’s decisive intervention brings an end to a prolonged legal battle, restoring what many party stakeholders describe as “legal sanity” and reaffirming the principle that justice, even when delayed, ultimately prevails.

In its ruling, the court found that claims advanced by the Sadiq–Ogunloye faction lacked credible legal backing and were rooted in misrepresentation. Following the judgment, Shehu Musa Gabam has been reaffirmed as the legitimate National Chairman of the SDP. His leadership, previously challenged, now stands validated both legally and institutionally.

The party has issued a stern warning to the Sadiq–Ogunloye faction, urging them to immediately cease presenting themselves as leaders or speaking on behalf of the SDP. Members of the public and party stakeholders have been advised to disregard any statements originating from the group.
