POTISKUM LAWMAKER LAUNCHES WATER PROJECT AT GANDAFURA PRIMARY SCHOOL

Potiskum, Yobe State — In a move aimed at tackling water scarcity and improving community welfare, the Honourable Member representing Potiskum Central Constituency at the Yobe State House of Assembly, Hon. Ahmed Adamu BBK (Sarkin Ado), has flagged off the construction of a borehole at Gandafura Primary School.

The initiative is designed to provide a lasting solution to the persistent lack of clean and safe drinking water affecting pupils, teachers, and residents of the Gandafura community. For years, the situation has posed serious challenges to both education and public health.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Ahmed Adamu BBK reaffirmed his dedication to implementing people-focused projects that have direct impact on the lives of his constituents. He emphasized that access to potable water is essential for healthy living and sustainable development.

He described the project as a necessary intervention that will not only provide water but also enhance hygiene, support academic activities, and improve the overall well-being of the community.

“This effort is about more than water supply. It is about safeguarding health, strengthening education, and uplifting the dignity of our people,” he stated.

Community leaders, school officials, and residents have lauded the initiative, describing the lawmaker as a “wakilin fita kunya,” a representative known for delivering meaningful development.

They noted that the borehole would significantly reduce the burden on students who previously had to travel long distances to fetch water, allowing them to concentrate better on their studies.
