KAIGAMAN POTISKUM VISITS NGOJIN COMMUNITIES, DISTRIBUTES PALLIATIVES AHEAD OF SALLAH

In a strong demonstration of grassroots leadership and commitment to community welfare, the Kaigaman Potiskum and District Head of Ngojin, Hon. Yusuf Umar, has embarked on an extensive tour of communities within Ngojin District, distributing palliatives to residents ahead of the forthcoming Sallah celebrations.

The visit drew a large turnout of residents, traditional rulers, youth groups, and women, who gathered to استقبال the District Head and witness the distribution exercise. The atmosphere was filled with appreciation, as many described the intervention as timely amid current economic challenges.

Speaking during the visit, Hon. Yusuf Umar, who also serves as Commissioner for the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Ethical Re-Orientation, reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of his people. He emphasized the importance of leaders staying connected to the grassroots, especially during periods of hardship.

“As leaders, we must remain close to our people and understand their needs. I deemed it necessary to come personally and support our communities at a time many families are preparing for Sallah under difficult conditions,” he said.

The palliatives, which included cash assistance and essential food items, were distributed to vulnerable groups such as women, the elderly, youths, and religious leaders. Community leaders supervised the process to ensure transparency and fairness.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, noting that the support would help ease their burdens during the festive period. Many residents also praised the Kaigaman Potiskum for his humility and direct engagement with the people.

“He did not send representatives; he came himself. This shows he truly understands our struggles,” a beneficiary said.

Community leaders reaffirmed their support for the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni, stating that such initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to improving the welfare of citizens.

The visit also provided an opportunity for residents to present key challenges, including economic and infrastructural concerns. Hon. Yusuf Umar assured them that their issues would be relayed to the appropriate authorities.
