Iran Rejects Terrorism Allegations, Sends Message of Cooperation to Nigeria

The government of Iran has sent an important message to Nigeria regarding cooperation in the fight against terrorism, even as tensions continue to rise between Iran, Israel and the United States.

Iran’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Gholamreza Mahdavi Raja, said his country is ready to support Nigeria in addressing security threats posed by extremist groups operating in parts of the country.

According to the envoy, Iran understands the dangers of terrorism, noting that the country has also faced attacks from terrorist organizations over the years. He stressed that Iran condemns terrorism in all its forms and is willing to cooperate with nations confronting similar challenges.

The ambassador added that Nigeria continues to face security threats from insurgent groups such as Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), and emphasized the need for stronger international collaboration to tackle the menace.

He also dismissed allegations from Israel claiming that Iran is involved in supporting terrorism in Nigeria and parts of West Africa, describing the accusations as unfounded and aimed at damaging relations between Tehran and Abuja.

The diplomatic message comes at a time of heightened geopolitical tensions following the ongoing confrontation between Iran, Israel, and the United States, which has raised concerns about security and stability in several regions of the world.

Observers say the development highlights the importance of international cooperation as countries continue to seek solutions to terrorism and other global security threats.
