Benue-Born Politician Linda Dirisu Elected Vice President of Young Women’s Renewed Hope Coalition

A politician from Benue State, Hon. Linda Ene Ochigbo Dirisu, has been elected as the Vice President of the Young Women’s Renewed Hope Coalition, a group focused on empowering young women and supporting national development initiatives.

Her emergence as Vice President was announced during the coalition’s recent leadership selection process, where members commended her dedication to community service, women’s empowerment, and advocacy for social justice.

Hon. Dirisu, who is widely known for her activism and humanitarian efforts, currently serves as the Benue State Coordinator of the Sexual Assault Referral Center (SARC). In that role, she has been actively involved in supporting survivors of sexual and gender-based violence, raising awareness about abuse, and advocating for stronger protection for women and children.

Stakeholders within the coalition expressed confidence that her experience in advocacy and leadership will bring fresh energy to the organisation’s mission of promoting the welfare and political participation of young women across Nigeria.

Speaking after her election, Hon. Dirisu expressed gratitude to members of the coalition for the confidence reposed in her. She pledged to work closely with the leadership and members to strengthen the organisation and expand opportunities for young women to contribute meaningfully to national development.
