Traditional Rulers Commend Governor Inuwa Yahaya as GSPHCDA Reviews Primary Healthcare Services

In a bid to strengthen primary healthcare services and promote improved healthcare delivery at the grassroots level, the Management Board of the Gombe State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (GSPHCDA) has carried out an advocacy visit to the Cham Traditional Chiefdom and the Folo Dadiya Traditional Council.

Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of the Agency's Management Board, Dr. Ya'u Ahmed Kashere, said the delegation was in the two chiefdoms to inspect primary healthcare centres constructed by the Gombe State Government, assess the availability of medical equipment, and identify areas that require further improvement. He noted that the exercise was aimed at ensuring that residents have access to quality and affordable healthcare services.

Dr. Kashere commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his commitment to strengthening the health sector, particularly through the construction and upgrading of 170 primary healthcare facilities across the state. He also called on pregnant women to regularly attend antenatal care services and encouraged parents and caregivers to take their children for routine immunisation, stressing that these measures are essential for improving maternal and child health outcomes.

In their separate remarks, the Ndugra Cham, Dr. James D. Chachis and the Folo Dadiya, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abubakar Galadima, lauded Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his unwavering commitment to improving healthcare services and providing critical infrastructure across the state. They also expressed appreciation to the advocacy team for the visit, describing it as a clear demonstration of the government's determination to ensure effective healthcare delivery at the grassroots level.

As part of the advocacy mission, the delegation visited selected primary healthcare centres across the two chiefdoms to assess their level of development, evaluate service delivery, and ensure that the facilities are effectively meeting the healthcare needs of the people.
