Police Arrest Suspects for Sexual Offences, Fraud, Criminal Intimidation in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has announced the arrest of several suspects linked to cases of sexual offences, fraud, and criminal intimidation, recorded during the last week of February 2026.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, said investigations are ongoing to ensure that all those involved face justice. The command also assured residents of its continued commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.

Case of Unnatural Offence

Police authorities disclosed that on February 25, 2026, a resident of Bakin Kasuwa in Burra, Burra, Bauchi State, identified as Danalami Umar, reported a case involving a 15-year-old teenager.

According to the report, the suspect, Bala Mato, aged 48, allegedly lured the teenager into a room on February 17 and committed an unnatural offence against him. The suspect has since been arrested, while the victim was taken to the General Hospital in Burra for medical examination as part of the investigation.

Case of Rape

In another incident, a 30-year-old mother reported to the ‘B’ Divisional Police Headquarters that a security guard with Al‑Ansar Security Limited, identified as Kamaluddeen Aliyu, allegedly lured two minors aged four and five into a security room at Tsohon Company area where he had unlawful carnal knowledge of them on separate occasions.

Police said both the victims and the suspect were taken to the police clinic for medical examination. The Commissioner of Police subsequently directed that the case be transferred to the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) Unit for detailed investigation.

Case of Fraud and Criminal Intimidation

Meanwhile, a resident of Dawaki District in Abuja, Emmanuel Christopher, reported to the police in Liman Katagum Division that he was defrauded of ₦3 million.

He alleged that two suspects, Aliyu Yahaya, aged 23, and another individual identified simply as Abdullahi, conspired to collect the money from him under the pretext of facilitating a dollar exchange deal. After collecting the money, the suspects allegedly threatened him with knives.

Police detectives later arrested Aliyu Yahaya, while the second suspect fled the scene. Authorities say efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect, recover the money, and ensure the suspects are prosecuted.

The spokesperson of the command, Nafiu Habib, reiterated that the Bauchi State Police Command remains determined to combat crime and ensure offenders are brought to justice.
