Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has congratulated two indigenes of the state, Bello Shehu and Dankombo Morris Fallings, following their promotion to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs) in the Nigeria Police Force.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the Director-General of Press Affairs at Government House, Ismaila Uba Misilli, the governor described the promotion as a well-deserved recognition of the officersโ professionalism, dedication, and years of outstanding service.
Yahaya noted that both officers have built remarkable careers in the police force, distinguished by discipline, integrity, and commitment to protecting lives and property across Nigeria.
The governor recalled their performances while serving as Commissioners of Police in different states, stating that Bello Shehu demonstrated strong operational leadership during his tenure in Katsina State, while Dankombo Morris Fallings earned commendation for his strategic leadership of the police command in Adamawa State.
According to the governor, the elevation of the two senior officers has brought pride and honour to the people of Gombe State and serves as inspiration to younger generations in the state.
He added that Bello Shehu, who hails from Gombe Local Government Area, and Dankombo Morris Fallings from Kaltungo Local Government Area, should see their new roles as a call to greater service to the nation.
Governor Yahaya urged the newly promoted AIGs to continue upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and patriotism while contributing to ongoing efforts to strengthen security and public confidence in policing.
He assured them of the continued support and goodwill of the government and people of Gombe State, expressing confidence that they will justify the trust placed in them by the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force.
