Fintiri Reshuffles Adamawa Cabinet, Redeploys Commissioners to Boost Governance
Adamawa, Nigeria - 19 May, 2026
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle in Adamawa State, redeploying several commissioners in what the government described as a strategic move to reinvigorate governance and improve service delivery across ministries.
The development was officially announced by the Adamawa State Government as part of ongoing efforts by the administration to strengthen institutional efficiency, enhance coordination among ministries and ensure the effective implementation of government policies and programmes.
Under the new arrangement, some commissioners were moved from their current portfolios to other ministries considered critical to the state’s development agenda. The reshuffle, according to government sources, is aimed at bringing fresh ideas, renewed commitment and greater productivity into the cabinet.
Governor Fintiri directed all affected commissioners to immediately hand over and assume responsibilities in their new offices, urging them to work with dedication and align with the administration’s vision for sustainable development.
The governor emphasized that the redeployments should not be seen as punitive measures, but rather as strategic administrative decisions designed to reposition the government for better performance and stronger results.
“This administration remains committed to delivering quality leadership and ensuring that every ministry performs optimally in line with the expectations of the people,” the statement noted.
Political observers in the state believe the reshuffle may further strengthen the governor’s drive to accelerate developmental projects and improve governance as the administration moves into the next phase of its agenda.
Since assuming office, Governor Fintiri’s administration has embarked on several projects in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and urban renewal, with the government consistently promising to deepen reforms and improve the welfare of citizens.
The latest cabinet adjustment is expected to enhance synergy among ministries and ensure that key sectors receive renewed attention in line with the administration’s priorities.
Residents and political stakeholders across the state are now watching closely to see how the redeployed commissioners will perform in their new assignments as the government continues efforts to advance development and public service delivery in Adamawa State.
