Sarkin Ado Donates Medical Supplies to Potiskum Specialist Hospital, Lauds Governor Buni’s Healthcare Transformation

The Member representing Potiskum Central Constituency in the Yobe State House of Assembly, Hon. Ahmad Adamu Sarkin Adon Potiskum, has donated essential drugs and medical supplies to Potiskum Specialist Hospital as part of efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery in the area.

The donation, which includes syringes, antibiotics, antimalarial drugs, vitamin supplements, intravenous fluids, medicated creams, cough syrups, and other essential consumables, is aimed at complementing government efforts in improving access to quality healthcare services across Potiskum and surrounding communities.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Hon. Ahmad Adamu reaffirmed that healthcare remains a fundamental pillar of human development and must be prioritized at all levels of governance. He stressed that access to affordable and quality medical services is a basic right that requires sustained investment and support.

The lawmaker also commended the Executive Governor of Yobe State, His Excellency Hon. Dr. Mai Mala Buni, CON, for what he described as a transformative impact on the state’s health sector. He noted that the Buni administration has consistently placed the wellbeing of citizens at the center of its development agenda.

He highlighted several achievements of the administration, including the construction and renovation of healthcare facilities, provision of modern medical equipment, recruitment and training of health personnel, and expansion of healthcare services across rural and urban communities.

According to him, these interventions have significantly improved healthcare infrastructure, enhanced service delivery, and restored public confidence in medical institutions across the state.

“Governor Mai Mala Buni has demonstrated exceptional commitment to building a resilient and inclusive healthcare system. His investments in infrastructure, manpower, and medical supplies have brought quality healthcare closer to the people,” he said.

Hon. Ahmad Adamu described the donation as a modest contribution toward supporting the governor’s broader vision of ensuring accessible healthcare for all, pledging continued support for initiatives that improve the wellbeing of his constituents.

The medical supplies were received by the Chief Medical Director of Potiskum Specialist Hospital, Dr. Ayuba Zakar, in the presence of stakeholders, including representatives of the Emir of Fika, the Emir of Potiskum, the Director of Primary Health Care Potiskum, and community leaders.

Dr. Zakar expressed appreciation for the gesture, noting that the donation would help address urgent medical needs, reduce pressure on patients, and strengthen the hospital’s capacity to deliver effective healthcare services.

Representatives of the Fika and Potiskum Emirates also commended the lawmaker for his consistent support to the health sector, describing his interventions as impactful and people-oriented.

They further praised Governor Mai Mala Buni for ongoing reforms in the health sector, stating that visible improvements across facilities reflect purposeful leadership and commitment to public welfare.
