Danchuwa Foundation Registers 1,000 for Free Health Insurance, Sponsors 100 Hernia Surgeries

The Danchuwa Charity Foundation has organized a large-scale humanitarian outreach that registered 1,000 people for free and permanent health insurance while selecting 100 individuals to benefit from free hernia surgery.

The initiative, which drew community leaders, political stakeholders, traditional rulers, and religious figures, was aimed at improving access to healthcare for vulnerable members of society.

According to the organizers, the program targets individuals who struggle to access medical services due to financial constraints. Through the health insurance registration, beneficiaries will now have access to medical treatment without worrying about the high cost of healthcare.

The event recorded strong representation from three traditional emirates — Potiskum, Nangere, and Fika — whose representatives attended to demonstrate their support for humanitarian initiatives that directly benefit their communities.

Officials of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Potiskum and Nangere were also present, alongside political stakeholders from Zone B and representatives from three local government areas.

To ensure broad community participation, five principal officers representing the 21 wards across Potiskum and Nangere attended the program, along with two stakeholders from each ward in the two local government areas.

Organizers said the intervention specifically targeted vulnerable groups and individuals who play important roles in community development. Beneficiaries included orphans, widows, persons living with disabilities, Islamic clerics, Christian pastors, cemetery guards, district heads, and humanitarian volunteers.

Several district heads (Hakimai), religious leaders, and volunteers were also in attendance, offering prayers for peace, unity, and continued support for humanitarian efforts.

Organizers further explained that the free hernia surgery for 100 patients would provide critical medical assistance to individuals suffering from the condition but who cannot afford treatment. Medical experts warn that untreated hernia cases can lead to serious health complications if left unattended.

Beneficiaries and participants expressed appreciation to the Danchuwa Charity Foundation, describing the initiative as life-changing for many families who struggle to access healthcare services.

The event concluded peacefully with special prayers offered for the success of the program and for continued humanitarian efforts.

“We thank Almighty Allah who made this gathering successful. May He bless everyone who contributed to this noble initiative and grant us the ability to continue serving humanity,” the organizers said.

The Danchuwa Charity Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to expanding similar programs aimed at improving healthcare access, supporting vulnerable groups, and strengthening community welfare.
