Eid al-Fitr 2026: Engr. Aliyu Mohammed Kombat Disburses ₦34 Million Sallah Support to Gombe Residents

A prominent Gombe-born philanthropist and business mogul, Engr. Aliyu Mohammed Kombat, has rolled out a ₦34 million Sallah support initiative aimed at cushioning the economic burden on residents of Gombe State during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

The intervention, announced in a statement ahead of the festivities, targets women, youths, and the elderly across all 11 Local Government Areas of the state, as well as the 13 newly established Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).

According to the plan, no fewer than 2,400 beneficiaries will receive ₦10,000 each as Sallah assistance. The distribution is scheduled to commence on Friday, March 20, 2026, corresponding with the 1st of Shawwal, 1447 AH.

The exercise will be coordinated across designated centers located at local government headquarters and LCDAs, with appointed representatives overseeing a transparent and orderly disbursement process. Each ward is expected to produce 100 beneficiaries to ensure equitable distribution across communities.

In a further show of inclusivity, the philanthropist has also earmarked support for media stakeholders. Approximately 200 social media influencers, content creators, and radio promoters will receive ₦50,000 each in recognition of their role in public communication and community engagement.

Kombat stated that the initiative is part of his continued commitment to humanitarian service, emphasizing the importance of supporting vulnerable groups, especially during festive periods. He noted that the gesture is intended to foster unity, ease financial pressures, and encourage a spirit of generosity among citizens.

The initiative has been widely commended by residents, many of whom described it as timely and impactful in light of prevailing economic challenges.
